High Tech Los Angeles

This innovative 350-student public school is high achieving in both academics and sustainability, exceeding the CHPS green building criteria.  Gardens surround all sides of the school and penetrate its center with “commons” areas for flexible small group use to provide intimate contact with nature.  Plant choices are made to reduce building heat gain from sun, and to reduce the need for pruning, fertilizer, pesticides and water.
