Yvonne B. Burke Sports Complex

Dake Landscape was hired by the California Conservation Corp to reduce water consumption and increase stormwater capture at Yvonne Burke Recreation Center in the LA County Unincorporated community of Windsor Hills. Currently under construction, the first phase will develop a bio-retention basin along the existing swale on Fairfax Avenue, which will slow water flow and filter water through plants. The second phase will include detailed evaluation and renovation of the existing sports field irrigation system, improved and graded walking paths, infiltration basins, new native plantings. The California Conservation Corp will hire local youth to construct the project.
