Sleepy Lagoon Monument

This project features a multi-benefit greenspace filtering stormwater with native plants that were useful to the Tongva people, and cultural artwork highlighting the meanings of the historic “Sleepy Lagoon” landscape along the Los Angeles River. Our team researched candidate sites, conducted community outreach, designed a low-maintenance landscape, developed civil engineering studies of stormwater features, and planned the permitting and implementation for all features.
